Sit with me in the shade is part of my Into the Wild collection, inspired by quiet, seasonal walks through the wild corners of Sussex and the South Downs. I’m especially drawn to the shaded places—where plants grow freely and closely, twisting and layering in beautiful, quiet harmony. Later in the year, I forage for dry grasses and seedheads, which inspire my embroidery and are also used to create unique, one-off monoprints within the work.

This original painting is created on cotton canvas using textile paints and spray paints. Layers are built using real botanicals and handmade stencils to form organic shapes and textures. Appliqué, free-motion embroidery, and hand stitching add a rich, tactile dimension to the surface.

The artwork is mounted onto soft white mount board with hand-stitched detailing, and framed in a bespoke white wood frame, ready to hang.
