‘Winter light’ — from the collection When We Look Up

When We Look Up is inspired by quiet moments during my daily walks, looking up to the shifting tree canopies and capturing the slow, grounding rhythm of the seasons. These fleeting glimpses of nature’s calm form the essence of this collection.

‘Winter light’ is painted on heavy Lutradur fabric, whose delicate, lacy weave creates a soft, ethereal contrast to traditional canvas. Layered with a digital print made from my own photography, the piece captures fleeting moments of seasonal change.
Free-motion embroidery traces the fine structure of the branches, while hand stitching highlights the negative spaces between them — reflecting the intricate, shifting beauty of the canopy above.

The artwork is mounted with visible hand-stitched detailing to celebrate the raw edges of the fabric and is framed in a bespoke lime wash wood frame.
