‘Through Winter Branches’ — from the collection When We Look Up

When We Look Up is inspired by quiet moments during my daily walks, looking up to the shifting tree canopies and capturing the slow, grounding rhythm of the seasons. These fleeting glimpses of nature’s calm form the essence of this collection.

‘The Turning Canopy’ is painted on cotton canvas, layered with printed collage papers created from my own photographs. Free-motion embroidery brings detail to the branches, while delicate hand stitching draws attention to the negative spaces between them, reflecting the intricate beauty of the canopy as it turns through the seasons.

The painting is float-mounted to reveal the raw edges of the fabric and framed in a bespoke white wood frame.
