‘Liberation 2’ is inspired by a cool late Autumn’s walk on the South Downs, where the colours are changing from warm rusts and browns  to the coolness of winter.

An original painting on cotton canvas using textile paints and dyes. Monoprinting with real plants, grasses and seed heads I have found on walks with the family. The detail within the painting is added with free motion embroidery. The painting  is mounted onto beautiful textured Arches watercolour paper with a torn (deckle) edge. The printing and embroidery reaches out into the paper to add more drama and mood to the painting. Leaving the threads to hang free over the paper, adding texture and movement to the painting.

The textile painting is framed in a bespoke white frame.
