‘Calm Chill 2’ Original Painting 50cm x 50cm

‘Calm Chill 2’ is inspired by a clear but cold winter’s day up on the South Downs. When I am out walking with my family I notice the colours, patterns, and how it makes me feel being in nature. All these elements inspire my textile artwork.

An original painting on cotton canvas using textile paints. Monoprinting with real plants, grasses and seed heads I have found when out walking. The detail within the painting is added with free motion embroidery. The painting  is mounted onto beautiful textured Arches watercolour paper with a torn (deckle) edge. The printing and embroidery reaches out onto the paper,  adding more drama and mood to the painting.

The textile painting is framed in a bespoke white frame. with non reflective UV glass
